A massive turnout was seen at the Tehran Blood Transfusion Centre on Monday, following authorities’ call for blood donors in the aftermath of the deadly 7.3-magnitude earthquake that struck near Iran’s border with Iraq.

Ali Akbar Pourfathollah, Managing Director of Iran’s Blood Transfusion Organisation [IBTO], said: “in a typical day we have 28 units of O-negative blood. The most recent update for today shows we have received 300 units of O-negative blood just in Tehran.”

  1. An earthquake happens and hundreds people go to donate blood? If a war happens with the Iranians, I can tell you one thing, the Iranians won't be the ones losing the war. These people seem to be very United and ready to defend themselves rather than running away into Europe
