Iran has officially lodged a complaint against Washington over the US police killing of an Iranian national, Bijan Ghaisar who also held an American passport.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said a memo over the killing was delivered to the Swiss envoy in Tehran, who looks after U-S interests in Iran. Bahram Qassemi said the memo demands a clarification from Washington on the QUOTE “regretful and illegal” incident. He added that U-S officials have been urged to pursue prosecution of suspects and compensate the victim’s family for their loss. 25-year-old Ghaisar died last week, ten days after he was shot by the police in Virginia. Ghaisar’s family said he was unarmed and presented no threat to anyone when police shot him in the head three times.
